A Global Data Storage Technology Leader Successfully Migrates Global Transportation, Trade Management & Fulfillment Processes from SAP to the Cloud

Client Background and Business Context

The customer is a globally recognized technology manufacturer that creates data storage solutions that power today’s technology and inspire tomorrow’s innovations. They have long been at the forefront of game-changing innovations. From the invention of the first hard drive to recent advancements in 3D NAND, they continue to inspire those who dare to think big.

The organization was facing rising transportation costs due to excessive expedites and ad-hoc carrier selection, along with increasing trade compliance complexity across multi-country fulfillment operations. Significant manual tasks in the order-to-fulfillment process and low data accuracy were impacting execution speed, while order-promising accuracy was not improving due to convoluted processes across multiple platforms. Existing processes were not scalable from demand to fulfillment, significantly impacting revenue recognition and increasing COGS due to manual backlog management, lack of proper backlog prioritization, and accuracy challenges. The spinoff of the SAP platform supporting shared fulfillment operations introduced business disruption risks, including the need to exit TSA dependencies across Finance and SCM. Spreadsheet-driven finance processes and manual touchpoints in automated processes continued to limit operational efficiency and process controls, reinforcing the need to reduce manual intervention and shift controls from reactive to preventive.

To address these challenges, Trinamix partnered with the organization to implement Oracle Cloud–based transportation, trade management, and fulfillment capabilities, enabling greater visibility across global order execution. The solution reduced manual touchpoints, improved delivery performance and compliance, and lowered transportation costs, while enhancing customer service levels through more accurate and reliable order fulfillment.
